The Position
I came to this through two failures — a 2016 polling instrument that said nothing true, and a design argument I couldn't enter.
My view from somewhere is Modern. I reason from evidence and structure — the Modernist method, applied to the problem of mapping all three regimes, including my own.

Give me a person's political vocabulary and I will tell you what reality they are living in.

Truth
How does a regime
access truth?
What counts as knowing something. What settles a question once and for all.
Power
What legitimates
authority?
Who has the right to decide. Whose word ends a dispute.
Purpose
What is
governance for?
The vision of success — and of failure. The same society reads simultaneously as flourishing and collapsing, depending on which regime is processing it.
Every political regime answers these three questions. The answers are the primitives.

Epistemic Regime

Premodern
Authority
reveals truth.
The oldest operating system. The world has an order — decreed, inherited, sacred. Father, Church, King. Reason serves revelation; it does not replace it.

Modern
Reason
discovers truth.
A reaction to Premodern. Hume, Locke, Kant told us: truth is found, not decreed. Anyone who applies method correctly can reach it. The individual is the unit of power.

Postmodern
Discourse
produces truth.
A reaction to Modern. Reason is not neutral — it has a politics and a history. The mirror turns on the Enlightenment itself. Who speaks? Who is heard? Who decides what counts?
We are all children of another regime. None of us chose our starting world.

Truth How accessed? Power What legitimates? Purpose Governance is for?

Purpose is the diagnostic readout — not an independent mechanism. The same society simultaneously reads as Order functioning, Liberty under threat, and Injustice persisting. All three conclusions are internally coherent. None can hear the others.

Allies & Enemies
Enemies Are Not Invaders.
They are the native virtues of other regimes,
doing exactly what they were designed to do.
Ask what the Father needs: Loyalty. Obedience. Hierarchy.
Ask what destabilizes the Father: Consent. Evidence. Individual rights.
These are MOD's native virtues — doing exactly what they were built to do.
Every system cultivates what supports it and resists what undermines it. The conflict is not personal. It is structural.

The Design
One Event. One Compiler.
One Coherent Truth.
The constraint: what minimal vocabulary makes a political event render as internally coherent — and experientially true — within one regime alone? The constraint produces exactly one answer per regime per dimension. That answer is the primitive.
Same event. Three runtimes.
👑 "The Father restores order. Hierarchy asserts itself. This is how it must be."
🔎 "State power violates individual rights. Due process matters. Liberty is under threat."
🪞 "Power suppresses the marginalized. Discourse is silenced. Injustice persists."
Three internally coherent truths. Mutually unintelligible. This is not disagreement — it is architecture.

The Instrument
Language Contains Structure.
MPNet-768 is a sentence transformer trained on billions of tokens of human language. When the framework's vocabulary was embedded — without labels, without regime assignments — the model returned a semantic map. Concepts that cohere ended up together.
Other sciences have used this kind of tool with extraordinary results. AlphaFold found protein structures that biochemists had sought for fifty years. Chemistry. Materials science. Drug discovery. AI revealing structure in data that human analysis had not yet reached.
Philosophy generates language more abundantly than any other discipline. What is in that language, waiting to be seen?

The Cross-Regime Collision
The same word. Two regimes. Opposite structural roles.
These are the joints at which communication fails.
Ally in one regime Enemy in another
Consent 🔎 MOD — governance requires agreement of the governed 👑 PRE — the Father does not ask
Evidence 🔎 MOD — raw material of Reason; knowledge derives from it 👑 PRE — if evidence overrides pronouncement, Authority is no longer the source
Objectivity 🔎 MOD — truth is observer-independent; the standard of inquiry 🪞 POST — conceals the power relations embedded in "neutral" inquiry
Meritocracy 🔎 MOD — the individual earns their place; the promise of Liberty 🪞 POST — renders structural advantage invisible; kills Redress
Each regime's health requires conditions that are toxic to the others. No bad faith required. This is architecture.

The Predictive Claim
Tell me which runtime is processing the event and I will tell you what the output will be — before I've heard the argument.
Not prediction of behavior. Prediction of structure. The regime determines which facts are eligible, which threats are legible, which resolutions are imaginable.

The Objection
Yes. It Reduces.
Every instrument of understanding is reductive.
That is the condition of understanding.
Foucault's genealogy is reductive. Legal procedure is reductive. War games are reductive models of war. We use them because they save the expense of the real thing.
