About Kevin

Kevin Muldoon is a Design Systems Architect, a systems thinker who designs for the whole rather than individual pieces.

Kevin partners with enterprise teams to build scalable, flexible, and inclusive design systems across web and mobile platforms. With deep expertise as both a Design Technologist and Product Designer, Kevin bridges design and development to deliver systems that are not only visually consistent but also technically robust and extensible.

He has successfully led the architecture and implementation of white-label and enterprise design systems for industry leaders including Dow Jones, Aetna/CVS Health, and Dictionary.com. His systems enable teams to ship faster, align on shared standards, and support multiple brands or business units without sacrificing usability or aesthetics.

Kevin’s methodology fuses atomic design principles, game design thinking, and design token architecture to create systems that are intuitive to use and evolve over time. He champions a vision of design systems as collaborative platforms. They’re clear in structure but open to play, bringing to life a place where designers, developers, and stakeholders confidently contribute and scale together.

As a hands-on and self-directed leader, Kevin is skilled at:

  • Auditing and evaluating existing systems
  • Making data-informed recommendations for optimization or overhaul
  • Leading end-to-end implementation across teams and toolchains
  • Collaborating closely with engineers to ensure design fidelity and technical feasibility
  • Developing governance models, contribution workflows, and documentation standards

In addition to his client work, Kevin actively contributes to the design community through writing and speaking engagements, with featured pieces on Medium.com/UXCollective. and appearances at industry events.

Currently open to consulting opportunities, system audits, fractional leadership roles, and speaking engagements, schedule a meeting with Kevin today.
